Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital's (PIH) blood donor center came to Rio Hondo's campus inn on March 3 and 4 hoping to collect blood donations from faculty, staff, and students. Russell Castaneda Calleros, Director of Government and Community Relations at Rio Hondo College, has been sworn in as a new member of the Whittier Union High School District board of trustees. Across the country, thousands of protestors gathered and rallied on March 4 to defend their education against state budget cuts. In an effort to sponsor women's health month, the Latina Leadership Network (LLN), will be holding its annual conference on March 17, the topic on the agenda will be beauty enhancements, a subject no woman will want to miss out on. The American Association of University Women (AAUW) held their seventeenth annual math and science conference for eighth grade girls on Feb. 26, which provided the students with information on careers related to math, science, and technology.
