Kicking off the weekend at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney, MxPx gave a great performance on Friday night with opening band Tat. Tat got the night started just right with lead vocalist Tatiana DeMaria showing that even though there isn't a big crowd, there is still a lot of fun to be had. She gave a killer performance even singing a few lines from the Disney movie Aladdin and interacting with the audience. Their song "Don't Wanna Love You" was fast paced would-be love song that was easy to relate to and got the audience moving. They also played a song off their new album called "Champagne, Cocaine and Strawberries" which ended their set nicely.

MxPx's performance was even more enthralling, the band came on stage starting their set immediately and getting the crowd moving. MxPx is from Bremerton, WA and they play punk rock music with an array of punk lyrics ranging from politics to broken hearts. With Mike Herrera doing vocals, Tom Wisniewski on bass and doing backup vocals, and Yuri Ruley on the drums. The group is an overall crowd pleaser that encourages singing along and moshing.

While taking requests the lead singer announced a special request from a fan backstage. The fan brought out his girlfriend and proposed to her, the crowd responded with enthusiasm and applause. She said yes with much delight and the band played on.

They performed some of their older hits by request and also some newer stuff including "Secret Weapon" off their last album. With plenty of interaction with the audience and even some theatrics, such as crossing guitars in the air across the stage, the show was very exciting and upbeat. They ended the show with their famous "Punk Rawk Show", which the crowd had been begging for from the beginning.
