Men's team loses close one to ELAC, 73-65

Rio Hondo's men's basketball team is now 2-6 after losing to East Los Angeles College, 73-65 in the annual "Toys for Tots" game Tuesday Nov. 25 hosted at Whittier College.
Prior to Tuesday's game the Roadrunners split their two games last week, opening with a 78-70 win over Mira Costa in the first home game of the season and lost to Long Beach City College 70-60 in an away game three days later.
Jonathan Cutkelvin was a stand out in the two games recording a double-double in both outings. Cutkelvin had 12 points and 10 boards in the win and 16 and 10 in the loss. Darryl Alexander led the scoring against Long Beach with 21 points and Ronald Anthony chipped in with 14 points.
The Roadrunners will host their own Rio Hondo Round-up tournament Dec. 11-13 before entering the Vaquero Classic Tournament in Glendale Dec. 17-20.
They open Foothill Conference play Dec. 3 against
Chaffey College here at 1 p.m.
