Hailing from the small northwest town of Acacortes, Washington is The Lonely Forest, and this April they are premiering their new album "We Sing the Body Electric." The album is rich with slow tang tinged guitars, reminiscent of early Death Cab for Cutie with whom they share the same home state. The best way to describe their sound is early 1990's college rock. Along with the twang, The Lonely Forest serves up fifteen tracks of driving distorted guitars, the occasional piano, and athemtic vocals. We Sing the Body Electric was produced by Jack Endino (Nirvana, Mudhoney, Hot Hot Heat) who gracefully masters the sounds of the great northwest. The band offers a sound new, yet familiar that was suspected to be lost in the grungy flannel filled days of the 1990's. If posed with the question "are they past their time" I would answer no, they are a facelift to the sagging face of Los Angeles.
