The steel city has once again provided the world with more new metal. Managing to break out of the pits of Pittsburgh, PA, Mantic Ritual toured North America to promote their debut album Executioner released via Nuclear Blast records on March 10.

Mantic Ritual (formally known as Meltdown) is a talented young metal/rock four-piece with sounds of old Metallica and Testament entangled. The executioners are Dan Wetmore (Lead vocals & guitar), Ben Mottsman (Bass), Jeff Potts (Guitar), and Adam Haritan (Drums.)

Two weeks after the release of their new album, Mantic Ritual provided support for Germany's Destruction at The Key Club on March 24 in Hollywood, CA. Mantic Ritual began their 35 minute by shredding their fans "One by One." Next, everyone was "Murdered to Death" as fans provided background chants while Wetmore grated his fingers on the strings that created non-stop metal shreds. "What's new Los Angeles?" asked Wetmore before moving on to perfectly execute a cover of Venom's "Black Metal."

The adrenaline filled show continued as Haritan obliviated the drum-kit and provided the high justice to all "Souls" in attendance. Wetmore interacted with the metal crowd before the strength of Mantic Ritual's new-old spontaneous creation addressed The Key Club to "Panic." Mottsman sporadically provided the bass structure through a performance of "Thrashatonement" as Potts leaned back to provide killer solos between the music. Mantic Ritual ended their sentence and set with rhythmic exactitude while planning the "Next Attack."

After the set, Korina Solis, 18, from L.A. said, "Mantic Ritual was cool, I liked the Venom cover they played. It was a pretty cool set." With that said, the band provided a new kind of metal ritual through effective and destructive action.

Performing six out of their eleven tracks and a band with a great sound of potential, Mantic Ritual is a fresh new face to the metal world for years to come. Mantic Ritual will return to The Key Club on July 12 on the next leg of their tour. For additional information on the band, visit them at www.myspace.com/manticritual
