Advertisers are using new methods to spam your email account by using the newest method referred to as "keyword stuffing".

This typically occurs when you check your email account or use a search engine: it is considered to be an unethical search engine optimization technique.

Keyword stuffing can be considered to be either a positive or negative tactic. It depends on the context of the technique, and the opinion of the observer.

"The first time when I got my Myspace page I was like why are there all these lesbian advertisements. I don't think I need a constant reminder that I'm a lesbian" said Cristela Solorio Ruiz "I think it's kind of cool but I don't know."

While a great deal of keyword stuffing was employed to aid in spamming it was not intended to skew results in a deceiving manner.

"On my face book I saw an acting audition ad on my myspace it looked legit, it was a company so I went to the audition," said Stephanie Heckel, "I soon found out that it was a scam and would had to pay thousands of dollars for training."

One can now conclude why these ads relate to ones interests. It isn't what one may call DejaVu, it's the third party being able to investigate your searches or interests and provide you with advertisements.

"My friend once told me that she was emailing her boyfriend back and forth on breaking up" said Marlene Chavez "and that the next time when she checked her email again there was all these advertisements on anti-depressants and weight loss."

Whether keyword stuffing carries negative or neutral methods, the practice is used to pollute the results and traffic unnecessary relevance to individuals.

" I don't think its necessary because it's a waste of my time," said Ivan Anaya "its stuff that I wouldn't even consider looking at".

However it seems students remain indifferent about keyword stuffing. Most agree that they just disregard the advertisements.

Because there is no way to set your browser settings to avoid this programming students will remain victims to the nuisance that is keyword stuffing.
