If you want to spend the summer with friends and catch up you can go to a concert. There's nothing like rockin' out to your favorite songs along with tons of other fans. If concerts are out of your budget try a show for a local or indie artist, sometimes even big name acts play, its a great way to save on cash and you'll still have an amazing time; Los Angeles is full of small venues. Can't think of anything to do once school is out? Well, here are 10 ideas that will have you looking forward to the long summer nights.

If you want to spend the summer with friends and catch up you can go to a concert. There's nothing like rockin' out to your favorite songs along with tons of other fans.

This summer the concert to look forward to is No Doubt as they come back from a long hiatus. The concert will be sure to have you rockin' out to the classics like 'Don't Speak' and with Paramore as their special guest the wait and the price of the tickets will definitely be worth it.

If you and your friends feel like traveling, take a road trip. Although gas is expensive if you get enough of your friends this won't be much of a burden and the best thing about road trips are all the laughs and of course the memories.

But if you and your friends are really on a tight budget make it a mini road-trip find somewhere you haven't gone to, that's not too far.

Cool off at the movie theatre. With blockbusters like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the theatre is a great way to catch the latest and most anticipated summer flicks as well as keeping cool. If you want to save a buck hit the matinees where you can save half the price of regular admission and if you really slick you can spend the whole day at the theatre for the price of one movie.

Dance off the calories and hit the clubs. Not only does the summer bring warm weather but awesome summer music as well.

Listening to your favorite song and dancing with your friends at a club is fun and healthy since dancing burns calories. Clubs like La Mirage night club are free all night on Sunday if you're over 21. Also Margarita Jones is free on Friday's before nine o'clock.

Hit the theme parks. Although it might seem that admissions prices are really expensive, a lot if not all theme parks are offering to buy a day and get a year free; or they are offering, pay for a day and come again another day free.

You and your friends can also check if you get a discount when buying tickets on campus.

Something you can do with your family as well as friends is to go to your local park. Although this doesn't sound to fun; it really is.

It's a place that's open to a lot of activities. For one you and your buddies can start off with a picnic and you can also play an assortment of sports like soccer, volleyball etc. Or instead you can ride the little boats on the lake.

Hit the beach with your family and friends. There is no better fun in the sun then on the beach. But remember to put on sun-block, and if you're there for a long time don't forget to reapply. You can also play games like volleyball and Frisbee and take along a book or a magazine.

Have a barbeque. Nothing brings people together like food.

There's nothing better than chillin' with your friends and family and enjoying food. Also if you want to keep your barbeque on a budget have each of your friends and family bring a food item; that not only one person will have the burden of getting all the food.

Buy a new game. Whether you have a Wii or a PS2, it doesn't matter what game console you have, buy a new game and have your friends come over to try it out.

Some fun games to look out for this summer are SEGA Virtual Tennis for the Wii and Lips (karaoke party) for the XBOX 360.

These games are also fun to play with your family especially if you have nothing to do on a Saturday night.

Something you can do individually when you want 'me time' is to Read a book.

This is really important it's food for the mind; with all the genres out there is definitely a book for everyone whether you prefer science fiction, romance, mystery, etc.

Definitely pick up a book this summer; and books to look forward to are,

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown which offers suspense; as well as James Patterson's new mystery novel The Swimsuit.

So whether to choose to do some or all the things on the list remember to have tons of fun with friends and family make memories and most of all be safe while enjoying your summer!
