RE: Dan's Den Issue 5/01/09
Issue date: 5/15/09 Section: Opinion
Dear Editor,
To anyone who is interested in really getting down to the facts, and really knowing what the Associated Student Body (A.S.B.) does for you, I would encourage them to go to The A.S.B. meetings and truly finding out about all the things they do for all their fellow students. There was a pathetic article written by J. Daniel Fernandez just recently in which he attacks Ernesto Zumaya in a most irresponsible way. According to Mr./Mrs. Fernandez, he claims through his actions to know the absolute factual truth of how/what and who the A.S.B. senate is all about. My whole argument against J. Daniel Fernandez is that he should base his opinions on facts and responsibility for what he uses as his opinionated arguments (if they can even be called arguments) as opposed to his reputation bashings, which come out of his disgruntled miserable life with its lonely and starving for attention persona.
I will point out just a few of the good deeds that A.S.B. has done for all of us as students and I shall also analyze Mr. Fernandez arguments.
Ernesto Zumaya and the A.S.B. went to sacramento to petition the state senate to not raise student registration fees.
A.S.B. has tried to give out more food to its fellow students, not only during day classes, but also during night classes.
J. Daniel Fernandez fails to mention that the Riolimpics were open to anybody who was willing to join in the fun.
The recycling program has been in process, if you go to the Campus inn, you will see 1-2 boxes for recyclable trash, such as Aluminum cans, glass bottles and plastic bottles.
H.T.S. received criticism from J. Daniel Fernandez for the lack of participation and the use of paper banners and the use of plastic water bottles, however he does not point out that more paper is wasted in the use of our campus Newspaper, "El Paisano." Mr. Fernandez fails to realize (or at least he wants to act like he does) that water must come in some kind of container, and that sadly enough means that "in order to create an omelet, one must break a few eggs."
We must be honest with our selves and ask ourselves a question that has an obvious answer; "if I were to give you water from an open bottle/cup, and by that sense any kind of drink, would you take it or would you have some suspicions?' The answer is obvious, logical, and understandable, since you do not know me so well, you would have some suspicion.
My hope is that I have made my point clear while at the same time shedding truth and logic on an issue that has become a pathetic opinionated argument by Mr. Fernandez.
