Dear Editor,

Ernesto Zumaya has been one of the best Student Body Presidents and his board has been a big support to him and have been so active and willing to help and plan every activity that has taken place this year. Ernesto worked weeks on getting petitions signed by the students at this College so they would not have to pay higher unit fees, a lot of his board helped him as well, they went to classrooms, day and night and went out on the campus at booths, day and night to have students sign letters that were sent to the appropriate senators, to help students. He is never still, always seeing what he can improve upon at the school if he is allowed to do it and his goal is with all students in mine.

Earth Day may not have been perfect but the club that sponsored it, Honors Transfer Society, did the best that they could. These students do basically everything on their own here with advice and help if needed from the Director and Staff in student activities. They are young people that are going to school and getting involved and wanting to become something of themselves. Quite a few of them are transferring to four years and graduating. Some are single with children some without, and some are even married. The ASB were voted in and have done all they can to put on wonderful events and fight for the students. And by the way, the water was not being sold it was being given out on behalf of a candidate running for Hilda Solis's position.

Any student can belong to a club or start their own club. There are thousands of daytime students and if they choose not to belong to a club that is their choice. Night time students usually don't wish to be involved with college activities but they are more than welcome to start a club at night, a new one or in partner with a daytime club. There are equal student appreciation nights as there is n the daytime for students to get free food. RiOlympics is a wonderful and fun event for the students, all the students need to do is be in a club on campus.

All Community Colleges have a budget to travel and go to conferences and the most dedicated students go.

If you are so bitter about ASB, why don't get involved. They have done so many activities for the students this year and are always helping students that need help on campus, they are a great of young people with a variety of backgrounds. Why don't you talk to the people involved instead of making invalid assumptions?
