After all the destruction and turmoil left after war, most Americans feel that it is necessary to start bringing the troops back home, and after President Obama was elected, everybody thought for sure he would bring them home.

Now President Obama is left with the decision on whether he should send 40,000 more troops into Afghanistan. In February he had already sent 17,000 troops in order to stabilize a deteriorating and neglected country.

Even before he has even made the decision, he's being called a liar and irresponsible president. I completely understand that he would be going back on his word entirely. But what people don't realize is that the commanding general in Afghanistan is asking for more troops, if nobody had asked him, I'm sure Obama wouldn't have taken it upon his self to send more.

The troops that have been stationed there since the war first began in 2001, don't want to be pulled out. The majority of them still feel that the mission they were sent to accomplish hasn't been met. They say that they want to stay there until it's done. That is a fact that people don't hear, all anyone ever hears is how big of a liar Obama is.

Right now Obama is being pulled in separate directions. There are people criticizing him for potentially going back on his word, and on the other side the Commanding General that's begging for more troops. When troops are being deployed it's all in the hands of the President, but I feel that if anybody is going to be criticized it should be the generals in Afghanistan.

For a long time most people have no idea what was even going on in Afghanistan, all that was on the news was the war Iraq. Nobody had heard about it until the decision of deploying more troops was set on the lap of our new president.

Everyone just loves to criticize, but does anybody ever read a newspaper? Does anyone ever really know what's going on instead of hearing "current issues" from a friend who's view on politics is solely based of his new favorite hippie punk rock band?

I just think that if you're not being sent into war, what do you really have to complain about? You're not fighting the war.
