Lights, camera, action; the Veterans Club held their second annual comedy show on Wednesday Nov. 4th.

The Wray Theater filled up quickly as everybody in the audience anticipated for the show.

The audience members consisted of Rio staff, faculty, students, and of course veterans.

The comedy show was hosted by the very funny, Benny Mena.

Mena has been featured at different venues such as The Improv and The Ice House.
His real life experiences with neighborhood drunks, police officials that hold stereotype grudges, and judges are the bases of Mena's act.

The popular topics that the jokes were based on were childhood mishaps, the dreary of being in a relationship or marriage, sex, and ethnic stereotypes.

There were four opening acts, which included Lou Santini, Danny Ingle, Justin Rivera, G. Rielly, and Alfred Robles.

Each comedian had a major part in the show, keeping everyone entertained and ready for the next act.

Rivera was a very interesting act; he mixed his magic tricks with comedy.

Part of his act was very sarcastic mixed with adult humor.

I have never seen a performer like Rivera; he was very interesting and funny.

Ingle was a very funny comedian from Texas.

He does different shows across states and bases a lot of his jokes on his large frame.

Robles has been featured in the Latino laugh festival on "Si TV" and the loco comedy jam on Mun2.

Robles is also a former Rio student and focuses on the relaxed and chill part of life.

Rielly, a New York native and veteran himself, was the only African American comedian of the night and really focused in ethnic stereotypes.

The opening act, Santini, has been in this industry for 20 years.

He has done many things such as radio, TV hosting, commercials, infomercials, voiceovers, and standup comedy.

The second annual comedy show was such a great success and the comedians were all very funny.

It's important to have events such as these to support the veterans and to stay focused on the positive that our troops have brought our country and how they influence generations to come.
