Rio Hondo's Extended Opportunity Program & Services along with Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education are asking for you to come, Adopt-A-Child.
The EOPS/CARE program wants to invite you to participate in their annual "Adopt-A-Child" program. Adopting a child from their "Giving Tree" insures a wrapped gift for the child. Come by S-125 to adopt a child; you can also make a cash donation to the Rio Hondo Foundation CARE account, which will be used to buy additional gifts and prizes for the CARE students.
CARE is a program for head of household single parents, with at least one child under the age of 13 who is receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, TANF.
EOPS has a goal; to encourage the enrollment and transfer of student's handicapped by social and economic disadvantages to complete and be successful in their objectives while attending college.
EOPS/CARE is a compassionate program with services above and beyond to aid students with certain challenges.
"Our mission is to work in partnership with students and the campus community to enable students to fulfill their highest educational potential."
They offer services such as, educational planning, early registration, merit grants and peer advising.
Buy a child a gift and bring it in the office by Dec. 11, wrapped to make this time of year a special one.
