However, don't let the name fool you; contrary to it, Short Stop isn't a sports bar. It's more of a trendy and a contemporary place to come out to any night of the week.
Three conjoined rooms make up Short Stop. There is a room where the DJ is playing, good size dance floor, and where the endearing disco ball drops down at times. The other room is more of a lounge area with a vintage photo booth, jukebox, pool tables, and a couple of arcade games. The last room is the bar room, of course fully stocked. There is also a back smoking alley.
Short Stop is a great place to go to if you want to get out of the whole Hollywood scene, but still want to keep it lively, fun, and memorable with an Echo Park / LA sort of spin.
This place is for everyone looking to have a good time; dancing or non-dancing, hipsters and non-hipsters, trendy and non-trendy. Its cheerful environment lures in a mixed diversity of people.
From the outside Short Stop doesn't seem so inviting, and it looks rather small, however inside is a totally different story. It's actually pretty big; if you not careful you might drive right past it. It's a bit hard to spot, there is no luminous attracting sign outside, which makes it even more interesting and really makes you feel like you found a hidden gem.
This place has an interesting display of classic beers and photos of older and retired Dodger players. Its drink pricing is fairly cheap and there's an awesome happy hour before any Dodger game.
Short Stop is 21 and over, with no cover charge, and if you don't want to worry about parking and are crashing nearby come in your bike. Biking to Short Stop is pretty popular amongst some locals.
This place is great for groups, dates, and accompanying Dodger fans. Also remember to end the night by taking home a memory from the photo booth!
