The NFL season is heating up and most teams are about halfway through their schedule. The colts are decimated with injuries and are still unbeaten.

They haven't missed a beat with new head coach Jim Caldwell. The Saints are still unstoppable for the time being, and probably the surprise team of the year would be the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals have an impressive record of (7-2), and they lead the AFC North division. They also have a sweep of the defending Super Bowl champs the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Earlier this week the Cinncinati Bengals signed disgruntled running back Larry Johnson. Johnson who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs about a week ago has had some problems off the field.

Anything from criticizing head coach Todd Haley about his lack of playing experience in the NFL and also criticizing his play calling, or using gay slurs on twitter whatever it was, Kansas City had enough of Johnson.

Johnson can still play but he'll have to shape up if he wants to continue his NFL career.

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said that Johnson would be a backup behind Cedric Benson who has emerged as a started with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Benson does have a hip injury and status is unknown for this week's game against the Raiders. So Johnson might see more time than expected if Benson can't go.

It's going to be fun to see what kind of season this year is going to turn out to be with nine weeks to go in the season.

The Trojans got demolished last weekend when they faced the Stanford Cardinal on homecoming day at USC. Stanford did whatever they wanted against USC. Stanford ran the ball for over 300 yards.

Stanford rolled to an easy 55-21 victory here in Los Angeles. USC lost their first game in November since Pete Carroll has been at USC. The Trojans have never given up that many points since 1966 in a loss to Notre Dame.

The Trojans have a bye this week and after that they will have the cross town showdown with UCLA on Nov. 28.

UCLA on the other hand has been better off as they have won two straight games after their (0-5) start in the Pac-10. UCLA beat Washington and Washington State in their last two games. Next they host Arizona State at the Rose Bowl.

After their game with Arizona State, the Bruins will also be getting ready for the cross town showdown against USC.

With USC struggling on defense it'll be interesting to see if UCLA can have the same success like Stanford and Oregon did against USC.
