I never thought I would say this in the near future, but the New Orleans Saints are the Super Bowl champions.
Yes, that's right the Saints are the Champions of the NFL for 2009.
It was the two best teams in the league and the arguably the two best quarterbacks in the league as well.
Going into the game everybody figured that Peyton Manning would be his usual self, and he was for about 57 minutes.
Well that all changed around the three minute mark in the fourth quarter.
Before all that there was a number of game changing plays that happened like the onside kick to start the half by the saints, and the decision to go for it on fourth down to only get stopped.
Clearly it seemed like Sean Payton was going to make all the necessary calls to win the game no matter what dire situation the Saints were in.
With all those game changing plays throughout the game. Manning still had a chance at a game tying drive late in the fourth quarter, but Manning made a crucial mistake that but all ended the game and the Colts chances at winning their second Super Bowl in four years.
Around the three minute mark in the fourth quarter Tracy Porter stepped in front of a Manning pass and took it back for a 74-yard interception return for a touchdown, which pretty much clinched it for the saints.
It was as if Porter was waiting for that throw by manning all along.
Without hesitation Porter jumped Reggie Wayne's route, and that's when Super Bowl XLIV came to an end.
No other city could have deserved it more than New Orleans after what they went through with Hurricane Katrina, after not having a stadium to play in or a practice facility and not being able to stay in there own home.
Having to live at a hotel from week to week. Got to tip your hat to the Saints.
They finally gave the people of New Orleans something to cheer about.
New USC Head Coach Lane Kiffin believe it or not has gotten a head start on his 2015 recruiting class.
That's right a 13 year-old kid by the name of David Sills from Delaware has already verbally committed to USC.
I don't know what this means other than the kid is 13 years-old and nobody really knows what's going to happen with him.
Lane Kiffin saw something in him enough to recruit a kid that's not even in high school yet.
I guess we'll have to wait till the 2016 season to see how he turns out, and see if he was worth the wait.
